About Us
My name is Cristal Diaz, and I am the Founder and Director of Cristal’s Family Daycare in Dorchester, Massachusetts. I am a dedicated childcare provider, mother of three, and passionate advocate for creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children.
As a mother, my personal experiences have shaped the way I care for children and support families. One of my children has autism, which has given me a deeper understanding of patience, communication, sensory needs, and the importance of individualized care. Through both my personal and professional journey, I have learned how important it is for children to feel understood, supported, and valued.
In addition to running my daycare, I worked in a school setting for seven years supporting children with behavioral challenges, trauma, autism, and brain injuries. That experience helped me develop strong skills in behavior support, emotional regulation, classroom structure, and building trusting relationships with children from many different backgrounds and abilities. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, allowing me to connect with and support a diverse group of families in my community.
Our Philosophy
Growing up in Roxbury in a diverse community also shaped who I am and influenced my passion for helping others. Seeing different cultures, experiences, and challenges around me taught me the importance of support, connection, and access to opportunities. It inspired my desire not only to care for children, but also to help families in my community connect with resources and support systems that can make a positive difference in their lives.
Outside of my professional experience, I enjoy cooking, bird watching, and creating meaningful experiences for children through movement and active play. I love engaging children in physical activities that encourage healthy habits, social interaction, confidence, and learning through fun experiences. I also enjoy gospel music, and my Christian faith plays an important role in my values and the way I approach caring for others with compassion, kindness, and understanding.
I believe every child deserves a loving environment where they can learn through play, creativity, exploration, and positive guidance. My goal is to provide families with dependable, compassionate, and high-quality childcare while creating a space where children feel safe, valued, and excited to grow every day while building a stronger community around them.
